First Kiss
by Becky
Rated PG-13

It was one of those moments. The ones where everything else seems to fade away, and there's a charge in the air. Laura knew it was one of those moments because her heart had started beating faster the moment his eyes had latched onto her, never wavering.

It had taken her by surprise, that look he gave her. A look that had sent a rush of heat through her body, awakening all of her senses in a way that no one had in a long time. And this from him of all people. She couldn't have guessed the intensity he possessed, or the way it would affect her.

Her fingers wanted to trace the hard countours of his form. She wanted to feel his hands, a new lover's hands, exploring her in turn.

She didn't know how the intent of this meeting had changed from one moment to the next, but she knew she wasn't going to stop it. These moments didn't come along very often, after all. At least not for her.

The sweet anticipation kept building as he closed the space between them with each step he took. She stayed in the same spot, not quite knowing if she was bringing him to her, or if he was making her stay.

She didn't care.

It had only been a matter of time before they came together like this. She had almost tasted his lips before, and he hers, but they had parted ways that night with only the promise of a kiss... and more.

Who knew why now, months later, they had chosen to keep that promise? It didn't matter. It was happening, and she wanted it to happen.

He took the last step that separated them, his body brushing up against hers. The light touch made a delicious shiver run up the length of her spine. His warm hand cupped her face and tilted it towards him.

She said his name in a soft whisper, "Mac." Her lips remained parted in a natural invitation, and she closed her eyes as he moved closer to her. She felt his breath, then his soft lips cover her mouth in a gentle, yet deep kiss that drew her own breath from her.

There had not been many men in her life, and she had shared a perfect first kiss with only two of those men.

Now, it was three.
